Tronscan.org is the explorer — .site clones are a tell

A block explorer should show balances, not ask for a seed phrase or a “release” deposit.

TronScan is the widely used block explorer for the TRON network. The address people mean is tronscan.org (and related official properties documented by the project). You paste a wallet or txid, you read history. You should not be sending the explorer your recovery phrase.

Domains such as tronscan.site — and a long parade of near-miss spellings — show up when people search in a hurry. Security researchers have repeatedly documented fake TronScan lookalikes that push wallet-connect prompts, fake AML checks or “verification” pages that approve drains. A Trustpilot pile-on against the real brand is also a poor compass: explorers are not banks, they do not hold your USDT, and withdrawal complaints often describe some other service entirely.

Bookmark the official host. Type it. If a page that merely claims to be TronScan wants a deposit to “unlock” a balance you already see on-chain, close the tab. The chain already shows what you own; a stranger’s .site mirror cannot improve on that with your seed phrase.

If a lookalike explorer took credentials or funds, start at Get help. Recovery outreach that follows a drain belongs under Fake recovery.
