Telegram “worker” teams and gift drain

Organised Telegram crews run giveaways and mini-markets that turn free NFT-style gifts into a drip of fees.

Investigations into large Telegram scam teams — sometimes called “worker” crews — describe a production line rather than a lone trickster. Traffic buyers warm channels; content makers post giveaways and airdrops; bot operators run the click path; “support” keeps people inside when something feels off.

The hook is often Telegram gifts, NFT-style drops or status upgrades. Entry looks free. Then the bot wants a swap, a top-up, a rarity unlock, a marketplace fee. Timers and “only N spots left” do the rest. Value leaves through commissions, thin internal markets and rules that make withdrawal awkward — free to enter, expensive to leave.

Roles are specialised because the business is recruitment at scale, not a single clever trade. Fake testimonials and repost chains supply social proof. None of that requires you to be careless; it requires the interface to feel urgent.

Decline unknown gift bots. Never connect a wallet or pay “gas” to a stranger’s mini-app just to claim a prize. If a friend forwards a chain that ends in a deposit screen, treat the friendship as the bait, not the guarantee.
