“Economic Strategy” Telegram bots and the fee ladder

A bot that promises stable income for a tiny first deposit usually invents exchange fees, taxes and verification bills until you stop paying.

Telegram is full of bots branded like soft investment products — “economic strategy,” “stable income,” a friendly face, charts floating over cash. One specimen that readers have flagged uses a handle in the nataliainwest_bot pattern. The opening offer is almost always the same: send a modest sum; if the bot cannot multiply it dramatically, you will supposedly get the deposit back. That guarantee is bait. Once you are in the chat, the script escalates — a one-off exchange payment, an income-tax percentage, a verification invoice, then conversion or “unlock” charges. Each step invents a new reason the previous payment was not enough.

Photos of “managers” are often stock or stolen; the person on the banner is not a licensed adviser sitting behind the bot. There is no regulated firm on the splash screen, no audited performance, and no reason a real exchange would collect its fees through a stranger’s wallet. The pattern is advance-fee fraud with trading cosplay. Check by refusing any payment that is not to a platform you opened yourself through its official app, and by searching the bot name plus “scam” before you send a cent.

If you already paid one rung of the ladder, do not fund the next. Block the bot, keep screenshots and transaction IDs, and use the reporting routes on Get help. Anyone who then offers to reverse the charges for yet another deposit is running the recovery sequel — read Fake recovery.
