Latham & Watkins is a large international law firm; its real site is lw.com. The firm publishes a scam warning: impersonators forge emails, chats and social profiles, including offers to recover money and cryptocurrency lost online. Genuine mail uses the @lw.com domain. The Solicitors Regulation Authority has also flagged invoice frauds misusing Latham Watkins (London) LLP details.
Against that backdrop, cold “Latham & Watkins” helpers who say they have already located your Altera-style broker loss and only need a few hundred euros to release it are almost certainly not the firm. Elite counsel does not cold-DM retail victims, does not unlock coins for a token advance, and does not work from random domains. After one fraud, a second actor selling hope is a standard sequel.
Verify any lawyer through the firm’s official channels ([email protected] is listed for suspicious contact) or your local regulator’s directory. Prefer police and bank routes over anyone who needs a crypto fee first.
If you already paid a cloned “Latham” desk, start at Get help and read Fake recovery.
