There is no “Blockchain admin” who can reverse your payment

Emails and Telegram handles with “blockchain” in the name are a favourite second-scam costume.

A public blockchain is a shared ledger of transfers. It does not run a customer desk that can cancel a payment because you regret the recipient. Blockchain.com — the wallet and exchange company at blockchain.com — has said the same in public support articles: it cannot reverse crypto you sent to a third party, and it will not cold-call you on social media to “locate stolen funds” for an unlock fee.

That gap is exactly where impersonators sit. They invent departments — “wallet support”, “refund dept”, “info centre” — on lookalike domains and mailboxes that are not @blockchain.com or @blockchain.info. Some paste the word blockchain into a Telegram username. The script is recovery theatre: we found your coins, pay gas/tax/verification, send more. Official guidance from Blockchain.com treats unexpected recovery offers as scams.

Check the From address, ignore mystery “administration of the blockchain”, and open support only from the app or site you typed yourself. For the wider fee-ladder pattern, our note on “crypto recovery hackers” covers the same psychology without the brand costume.
