Euroclear is real — your private “blocked funds” story is not

A Belgian securities infrastructure firm does not WhatsApp retail victims about unblocking billions.

Euroclear is a major European securities settlement and custody infrastructure group, headquartered in Brussels. Banks, brokers and funds use it; ordinary investors almost never open a personal Euroclear account. That gap — famous name, obscure plumbing — is exactly why fraudsters borrow it.

Reported pitches talk about “blocked funds on Euroclear”, SBLC or bond programmes “registered” there, portfolio screenshots with a private individual’s name, or lookalike domains that are not euroclear.com. German-language consumer warnings have also described “Euroclear Complaints Department” emails that ask for IDs and payment proofs after an alleged recovery case is “accepted”. The real organisation does not cold-contact the public to recover scam losses, monetise phantom portfolios or collect unlock fees.

Check any Euroclear claim the slow way: type euroclear.com yourself; ignore WhatsApp contracts and personal Gmail “officers”; never pay to release assets you cannot independently verify through your own bank or broker. If the story needs a fee before the money moves, you are not dealing with market infrastructure — you are dealing with another invoice.
