Why crypto slid into late 2025 — reported factors

Policy headlines, a DeFi hack and ETF outflows were among the explanations offered for a rough patch — not a secret chat signal.

Markets invent tidy stories after messy weeks. Reports on the late-2025 soft patch pointed to a cluster of pressures: a difficult November for Bitcoin, a renewed hard line from China’s central bank against crypto and stablecoin misuse, knock-on weakness in related Hong Kong-listed names, a Yearn Finance exploit on the order of a few million dollars with funds later moved through a mixer, and heavy outflows from United States spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds — figures in the multi-billion range were cited by market desks. Derivative desks talked about thin dip-buying.

Those are explanations offered by journalists and traders, not a complete causal proof, and prices keep moving after the articles are published. What they are not is a private signal channel’s excuse to leverage your rent money “before 2026”. Policy risk, custody risk and ETF flow risk are reasons for smaller size and slower decisions — or no position at all.
