Cotswold Barristers Ltd is a real United Kingdom company (Companies House number 08751593), active since 2013, with chambers material at cotswoldbarristers.co.uk. That paper trail is exactly why impostors like it. Reports describe outreach under the same name that points victims to cotswoldbarristers.com — a separate site pitching “charge back” and “crypto recall” — and to documents that copy the registered office while inventing founders and mixing American terms such as “attorney” into a British barrister story.

A quick check is enough: open Companies House yourself, then open only the firm’s published domain and clerks’ email, not a link from chat. Genuine counsel do not collect rescue percentages into a personal Bitcoin address printed on a one-page “executor” sheet. If the website cannot match the firm’s own contact details character for character, treat the whole package as a fake-recovery funnel wearing borrowed stationery. An earlier, related name-drop used a wallet-style site under the same chambers brand — same verification rule applies.
Do not send crypto, remote-access tools, or “unlock” taxes. Keep the original scam evidence and use official reporting routes instead of anyone who cold-messaged you about a refund.
