The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act of 2025 — the CLARITY Act (H.R. 3633) — is a United States market-structure bill. The House passed it on 17 July 2025. In broad outline it would split oversight: the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) for many spot “digital commodities”, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for assets that remain investment contracts, with a separate lane for permitted payment stablecoins. Platforms dealing in digital commodities would face CFTC-style registration, capital and conduct rules; decentralised projects get transition ideas on paper, not a free pass from fraud law.
A quick check of Congress.gov and later Senate tracking shows the measure had not become enacted federal law after House passage — Senate process continued, and cloture later failed. Treat any chat that says “already regulated under CLARITY” as marketing, not statute.
For readers, the useful habit is unchanged. Ask which regulator, which registration number, and which official register you can open yourself. A bill title in a sales script does not replace that search. Scam desks paste legislative buzzwords the week they trend; your money still leaves through the same irreversible rails.
