BTC-BANK (btc-bank.org and related HYIP listings) sold itself as a short-term lender that took private deposits and lent against dollars and crypto. The pitch talked about years of trust and thousands of clients. The UK company it waved around — BTC COMMUNITY LTD, Companies House number 13177747 — was incorporated only on 3 February 2021 and dissolved on 19 July 2022. That is a paperwork prop, not a bank charter.
The economics were textbook high-yield investment programme (HYIP) bait: about 1% a day for ten days, 2% for twenty, 2.5% for thirty, with the deposit supposedly returned, plus “instant” payouts and a three-level referral cut. Early small withdrawals, forum screenshots and monitor “insurance” kept the queue moving until payments stalled. Open forum trails put the public run from late February 2021 to early April 2021 — roughly six weeks before “not paying” labels stuck.
If a site needs daily percent returns and a recruiting tree to look alive, treat the “lending desk” story as decoration. Check the company number on the official register yourself, ignore monitor badges, and do not chase the last week of “instant” proofs.
If money already went in, start at Get help. Anyone selling paid “wallet recovery” after a HYIP collapse: Fake recovery.
