People sometimes assume “the Netherlands is blocking BscScan” when a blockchain explorer returns Cloudflare Access denied / Error 1020 while a Dutch VPN exit is on. In most cases the opposite is true: BscScan’s edge (often Cloudflare) is blocking that VPN IP because shared exits attract scrapers, credential stuffing and other abuse. Thousands of strangers share one address; one bad neighbour can poison the pool.
Quick checks before you invent a geopolitical plot: confirm the explorer’s own status page is healthy; switch to another Netherlands node or another country; try a private window (stale cookies after VPN hops confuse challenges); temporarily disable aggressive ad/script blockers that break Cloudflare; and watch for IPv6 leaks if the VPN only tunnels IPv4. If one provider’s Dutch pool stays banned, a dedicated or residential exit — or a different explorer mirror for BNB Chain — is the practical fix.
Scam angle worth naming: anyone in chat who says “your explorer is censored, install our special browser / VPN / wallet instead” is selling a detour. Stick to official explorer domains and known mirrors; never paste a seed phrase into a “fix tool” that appeared the moment access failed.
A blocked IP is an annoyance. A stranger’s replacement wallet is the actual threat.
