BitMart fee discounts do not cut custody risk

A 20% commission coupon is marketing; withdrawals still run on an offshore exchange’s rules.

BitMart (bitmart.com) is a centralised crypto exchange. Invite links promising about 20% off trading fees are ordinary affiliate marketing. They trim a cost line. They do not shrink the harder risks: coins sit with the venue until you withdraw, and disputes follow the platform’s terms.

Public materials have long tied BitMart to offshore structuring. User agreements typically stress that the firm is not a US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registrant for securities services and keep wide rights to restrict accounts. In practice that can mean fast deposits and slow, KYC-heavy exits. Industry reporting also documented a major December 2021 hack with large losses — a reminder that custodial history matters when you size a balance.

Treat fee coupons as noise. Verify the legal entity in the current terms, enable strong two-factor authentication, test a full withdrawal with a tiny sum, and keep savings off any exchange that is merely “cheap to trade on”.
